This poem has been in my heart for a long time.
I need its truth now more than ever, and I imagine many of you might, too.
As always, wishing you all the strength, rest, and resources you need for this season.
I have written my way through many traumatic situations in my life, and I plan to do the same with the one we are collectively facing.
SAVE THE DATE REMINDER: I am co-hosting our third live community call with Kyle Stevens (Clean Air Events) on Saturday, February 8, at 8:30 p.m. ET. You do not need to pre-register, and you are welcome to show up as you are and participate within your comfort level.
Links for the event and an anonymous question/topic submission link will be sent out this week.
In light of recent events, these words from the Poet Laureate of Colorado, Andrea Gibson, remind us that being together in these times is one of the most healing, strength-building things we can do:
Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is remind ourselves
Over and over and over---
Other people feel this too.
I invite you to bring any poems you’ve written or read that give you life in these challenging days (to share live or in the chat, time allowing.)
Forests may be gorgeous
But there is nothing more alive
Than a tree that learns how
To grow in a cemetery.
-Andrea Gibson
